I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Shady Brook Farms. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Guys, it’s officially the season for grilling! I’ve been waiting months and months for this weather to come and now that it’s here you can barely get me inside.
Unless, of course, it’s to write blog posts to tell you about how excited I am to be outside. That’s logical, right?
And today I’m bringing you a super easy way to get your protein + veggies in. It’s called kabobs, and they’re fun to say and fun to eat.
We’re switching things up a little bit and using turkey breast, pablano peppers, onions, zucchini and squash.
When looking for meat, check for the USDA Process Verified seal on packaging to know that your turkey was raised without growth-promoting antibiotics by farmers who care. Today we decided to grill with Shady Brook Farms turkey cutlets; Shady Brook Farms works with more than 700 independent farmers to produce these wholesome turkeys raised without growth-promoting antibiotics. If you’re interested in finding out more about them you can visit the Shady Brook Farms website or their Facebook page.
Alternate meat and veggies on skewers that are soaked in water– this way, your little wooden sticks won’t catch on fire.
As far as actual cooking times go, that’ll vary depending on how you’re cooking (charcoal? propane? campfire?) but once your meat is done your veggies will be as well. Use a thermometer: cook your turkey to an internal temperature of 165 degrees fahrenheit.
Then remove it from the grill and dip in this easy-as-can-be honey lime dipping sauce! It’s another one of those recipes that’ll make people think you spent all day cooking when in reality it takes 2 minutes!
