I love working in groups and building community. As a curator I spend a lot of time searching the internet for great new blogs and authors to share with y’all. When I come across a great new blog with a smallish following I feel an obligation to pass their names along.
I figure if I love them then you will too, right?
So I compiled a short list of just a few of my favorite up-and-coming blogs. They’re all written and photographed by some pretty cool women who also put an emphasis on clean, fresh eating.
When you check out their pages be sure to give them a warm welcome and leave a comment (us bloggers love comments), and if you have any of your suggestions leave me comment with a link!
Rethink Simple by Kristen Epstein
It’s time to rethink what simple means. I’m Kristen; a mom, ‘granola cruncher’, diy enthusiast, researcher and writer. I believe that living a natural lifestyle can, and should be, simple. RethinkSimple.com is a blog dedicated to sharing information, tips, tricks, recipes and diy projects to allow you and your family to get back to basics. As like many of us, I was once a junk food foodie who lived on processed food product. Over the last few years I have learned how to make my own food, gifts, skincare products and more. I source locally and organic when possible, and keep ingredients when preparing food to a minimum. I put on my skin only what I would put in my mouth, as I know any product used is absorbed into our bodies. I keep my carbon footprint as low as possible and come up with creative ways to re-use common household items. I hope you stop on by and join me in rethinking what simple truly means!

Life, Liberty and the Persuit of Healthiness by Olivia Scott
Welcome to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Healthiness! My name is Olivia. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where it’s common to raise chickens and volunteer at your local farm. I hail from Southern California where the sun actually shines and the oranges are legendary. I miss my sun-kissed skin and vitamin D loaded bod but Oregon has much to offer. You’ve landed yourself at a blog centered around the journey to traditional healthy living and eating. Here you will experience the things I experience in my pursuit. There will be a myriad of geeky health things to discover….sprouting, fermenting, growing, culturing, blending, cooking, hatching, butchering…who knows! I am the kind of girl who gets excited about things like eggs and random dandelion weeds growing in my driveway.

Real Fit Mama by Julie de Lagarde.
Conceived in the belly of my integrative wellness practice, Real Fit Mama was born in early April 2013 as the next generation in my wellness family. I recently started blogging like mad, inspired to educate and motivate, ready to share what I’ve learned through decades of living and nearly a decade of clinical practice, and eager to hear what others have to say that might inspire as well. Real Fit Mama has opened doors to allow me a more personal and intimate connection with a broader base of people, based on my experiences as a mom, Real Food eater, athlete, and lifelong pursuer of happiness and inner peace.

Wild Greens and Sardines by Linda
Wild Greens and Sardines is a food blog based on local, seasonal cooking. What I truly appreciate are simplicity and freshness of ingredients. My recipes are largely based upon what I find at my local farmers’ markets and inspired by my travels near and far. Love going to the farmers’ market and seeing what’s in season, and subsequently creating dishes from what I find. Am not a vegetarian (love a slow braised lamb shank, a whole roasted duck, and just about anything that comes out of the water, especially Maryland blue crab), though cannot imagine a meal without vegetables and am always trying to find new and interesting ways to prepare them.
