Have you ever gone to an online website and fell in love with it instantly? The kind where you just click around for the fun of it, even when you don’t know what you’re looking for, because everything is just so darn cute? The Baby Cubby had me, hook line and sinker, the second I read their about page:
Remember when you were a child and you had that special place where you put all of your favorite things? That was your cubby.
We realize now that we are parents, our life is our cubby. We all have limited time, money, & health. We wouldn’t dare put something we didn’t love into our “cubby” as a child, why should being an adult be any different?
At The Baby Cubby we spend hundreds of hours researching to find the best products so you can spend your time on the things that are really important in life, like your new baby.
The Baby Cubby sent me products to use to review in this blog post, but as always, all opinions are my own!
I think it’s safe to say that I’m obsessed with them and their motto on living. A quick glance at their site and you’ll see that they carry literally everything you could need for your children, from gear like diaper bags and strollers, to clothing, to toys, to bath and beauty products.
I mean literally, they have it all. And with summer coming up right now, and many of us parenting wondering how we’re going to keep these kids entertained all summer long, I wanted to share a few of my favorite products from them!
These musical wooden instruments are not only adorable but well crafted. I looooove this PlanToys Bird Percussion Owl, and they also come as Parrots and Peacocks. Get the whole set, put your kids in a room with a door you can close and ask them to make a song for you– but a surprise song, so they have to practice it without you 😉
And of course you can always take their Summer Reading goals and flip them around. Like these “And Then…” books. Let your imagination run wild with this And Then… Volume One Story Starter Book! Choose a story card, read the beginning, and when you reach “And then…”, you get to be the author! Tell the stories again and again, with different middles and endings.
I’m going to be straightforward with you about these Tegu wooden magnetic blocks. They’re not cheap. They’re the type of product that you buy when you want to invest in a really beautiful, well crafted, stimulating toy that will last a lifetime.
Researchers say changing the way children play has changed their emotional and cognitive development. One study found that kids who played with blocks scored higher on language tests than kids who had no blocks. Imaginative and rambunctious “free play,” as opposed to games or structured activities, is the most essential type. (From the Tegu website.)
