It is, by all accounts, the most wonderful time of the year. I’m not usually someone who puts up Christmas decorations super early, but it’s our first year in a new house and I really wanted time to make the place look cozy and bright.
Plus, it’s our first time having a fireplace so I simply couldn’t help myself. When we went out of town last week we made a special detour to visit one of my favorite Christmas stores. At Home Christmas Decor is this huge store with tons of merchandise, including an unmatched assortment of indoor and outdoor décor items for Christmas and other holidays. With their every day low prices you don’t have to wait for big sales either, you can shop whenever it’s convenient for you! I couldn’t help myself! I mean it when I say the place is huge– they’ve got everything! It’s a one stop shop for all your decorating needs. You can design your entire house from their store alone. When I’m traveling with 3 kids I don’t like to spend any more time shopping than I need to. Between the older kids asking me for every. single. thing. they see on the shelf to the toddler who likes to run around like a madman, it can just get hectic.
So I really like to browse online and get an idea of what I’m going to buy before stepping foot in the store. What I really appreciated about the At Home site is that they break down decor into themes so you can see the items that match your style. Feel free to stick to one theme, or mix and match to create your own unique style! You can see more about their themes on their site.

I’m a sucker for all of these wooden and natural accents but the glitter drew me in this year as well, so I combined a few styles to create a look that was totally us! I love decor like this and the constant reminder to keep joy, peace and love on our minds through the weeks. My girls collect nutcrackers, so they each got to pick out one: My goal was to get our mantle looking just perfect. To pull it all together we paired these natural fabric branches with these glittery gold accents. Layer it with some twinkly lights and you have the perfect spot to sip hot chocolate and enjoy some family time! (Also, I wouldn’t normally keep the fire lit with pine on top! I just did it for dramatic effect. Safety first!)
Did you know that At Home offers 101 Varieties of artificial Christmas Trees? My girls love the frilly pink and white ones. I got a little tree for me to set up on my desk– but not until Thanksgiving is over, don’t worry!
