Our family just got bigger!

Oh yes, you read that right. Our family just got a little bigger.

We’ve got 10 new ladies joining us today!

This may not sound very “homesteader” of me, but aren’t they so cute you just want to cry?

Baby chicks

Our batch of Easter Eggers arrived in the mail today. They lay eggs of all different colors (hence the name).

Unfortunately, this little guy isn’t as active is the rest. She’s getting lots of TLC, snuggled up on chests and in palms.

I asked on Facebook several weeks ago for you all to submit your ideas for names. Here were our winners:

Nicole Bruno suggested Peep.

Sophie Stokes suggested: Basil, Parsley, Chilli, Coriander and Rosemary.

I’ll be posting lots of pics over the upcoming days, letting you know which chicks are which.

They are so cute!!! I can’t wait to see what their eggs look like. I have not heard of Easter Egger chick(en)s. I don’t live on a farm, but I love animals and farms. I went to a Pet Expo years ago to take my daughter, and they have these incredibly cute chicken that looked like puff balls. I don’t know what breed they are, or if they are bred to look like that, but they were so neat. I wish I could remember what they looked like so I could describe them better. I look forward to seeing the chicks!
