I remember being a kid, barely old enough to see over the tops of the tables. The adults would stand around eating h’orderves of fancy cheese, crackers and olives. I remember how every time I would try olives and through a scrunched up face try to pretend that I liked them. I never understood the appeal of olives but I knew that the adults liked them, and I really wanted to like them too.
All of that wishing worked, because as an adult I’m gaga for olives now (although I’m still not crazy about fancy cheese). And I try to make sure to serve them at every gathering. They’re a simple way to class up your meal without causing any. work. at. all. Isn’t that the best?

We tried it out using only green olives, but what about decorating your miniature tree with roasted red peppers, black olives and other colorful edibles?
For this we started with a cone from a craft store and used tooth picks to arrange our olives. The Mezzetta line has a new line of olives out that is to die for.
