This post is sponsored by ALDI, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own! Search to see if there’s an ALDI near you so you can grab these great finds too.
To all of my readers out there: Raise your hand if you’re a busy mom who is trying to figure out how to consistently feed your family healthy, delicious foods. Now, raise your other hand if you’re trying to figure out how to do that on a budget.
Is that everyone? Yeah, I thought so.
By far, the biggest problem that I hear about from all of my friends is the mealtime struggle of feeding your family all the right things without breaking the bank.
If that sounds like you, I’d like to introduce you to ALDI. Have you met yet? I’m pretty sure y’all are gonna be best friends. In case you’ve been living under a rock (or, like me, off grid in the mountains), ALDI is a grocery store with a pretty unique approach to shopping. To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect when I first stepped foot in one, but I’m totally hooked on their minimalist approach to shopping: No club cards or coupons, no fancy displays or unnecessary clutter, just a clean, organized store full of premium, high-quality groceries at impossibly low prices.
Their store is made up almost exclusively of ALDI-brand products, which all are free of added MSG, synthetic colors or hydrogenated oils. After a few visits, I’m starting to get the hang of the place, so I wanted to share with you all today a few of my favorite finds—whether you’re visiting the store for the first time or you’re a seasoned veteran, make sure you look around for my 5 favorite products!
Budget friendly wine.
Okay, there, I said it. ALDI has a pretty wide selection, many of which are premium award-winning wines! But I have no shame in admitting that in our house we drink a lot of wine. Prices vary by location, but I was able to snag these up for under $3 a bottle. So whether you’re planning on getting a premium brand to entertain guests or an inexpensive bottle for a night of watching Netflix, this is a great way to stock your wine collection!
Since we eat a ton of veggies in our house, being able to get quality, fresh food is really important to us. I don’t think we’ve ever made a trip to the store without coming back with: garlic, onions, potatoes, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and avocados. They carry all of it! Next time you visit, be sure to check out their organic section AND check to see what local goods they carry!
I was able to find all of our favorites like Specially Selected Goat Cheese, Specially Selected Roasted Gouda Cheese, fresh mozzarella, rounds of Brie + some things I’ve never tried before, like the Roasted Garlic with Tomato & Basil, or Pepperoni Marinara. I’m telling you, you’ll flip when you see the prices on their premium cheeses! Swapping out some unique flavors of cheese in lieu of the traditional kind is such an easy way to kick dinnertime up a notch and turn a regular meal into something really special. These cheeses were only $2.99 each! (And next week I’ll show you some fun ways to make your pizzas fancy by using different flavors of cheese from ALDI, so stay tuned for that!)
I may have stood in front of the section with cured meats for an embarrassing amount of time. I can get a little picky about the meat I eat, so when I saw their selection of different varieties of Salami (and there were a loooooot), I had to grab one of each so we could try them! This week we tried the Green Peppercorn Salami and Salami coated with Herbes de Provence, from Appleton Farms. I love to keep things like this on hand because when you need a quick snack, it’s so easy to pair them with some cheese and crackers and feel like you’re treating yourself or your guests.
And speaking of quick and easy snacks, the last on my list of favorite foods has got to be the Little Salad Bar hummus. Paired with pretzels or chips, veggies, or used as a topping for chicken—hummus literally goes with everything. We always keep a few tubs in our fridge, and since they carry so many different flavors we never get sick of it!
High-quality food should be easy and affordable – period. That’s our guiding principle, and it’s why we believe our shoppers’ money should go right where they want it to: into great-tasting food they can feel good about serving their families.
What do you think, did I miss anything? Leave me a comment and let me know what staples you love from ALDI!
