My name is Sam, and I’ve been a consistent follower of Homegrown & Healthy from the very start. It’s exciting for me to witness this healthy lifestyle being adopted by so many of the people that I love, its something that I’ve been zealous about for a long time now. The information that H&H has been providing us with is incredible in its simplicity and accessibility. Thank you Aubrey for pulling all this together, I know it’s been an awesome journey for you and I love getting to share in your experiences. That said I’ve been feeling like there has been something missing from the equation; I’m a firm believer that healthy eating and exercise go hand in hand. At the risk of sounding cliche– dieting alone does not make one healthy, and you can not out exercise a bad diet. So when Aubrey mentioned adding a fitness section to the site I jumped at the opportunity to contribute.
You may be curious as to what my qualifications are, and though I have no technical certificates or diplomas, I am a mother, artist, teacher, graduate student, and traveler among other things, who has made fitness and exercise an important part of her life. Its something I’m very passionate about and I can’t wait to share the tips and tricks that help me. Being fit doesn’t have to be grueling and hard, it can and should be a part of your day that you love and don’t want to go with out.
I won’t pretend to know everything: I can’t tell you how to eradicate cellulite (I wish I knew), or how to look better in your bikini. Being healthy is not about being skinny; our bodies are instruments not ornaments! What I want to impart on everyone above anything else is how to love yourself, I know this is easier said than done- But starting now take a moment to think about all the amazing things your body has already done for you, be thankful and know that it has the potential to do even more for you than it already has. In my humble opinion being able to love oneself, perfect imperfections and all, is what it truly means to be healthy.
It is my pleasure to have this opportunity to share,
Thank you all for taking the time to read,
