Have you ever wondered how to use oil to clean your skin? Even if your skin errs on the side of oily or acne prone?
I know, it may seem a little backwards, but bear with me:
The problem with cleaning your skin with traditional soap is that the sulfates strip everything off the skin, including important oils like sebum. When you strip these necessary oils away the glands that produce sebum make more to compensate for the loss, resulting in even more oil than you originally started with. Likewise if your skin is too dry and you add too much oil it reduce the sebum it creates, meaning it’ll be left even drier.
The key to a great DIY skincare routine isn’t about one extreme or another, it’s about striking a balance. What we want to do is create a routine that will help your skin begin to regulate itself.
That’s it, plain and simple! So how do you actually get started using oils to clean your skin? Here’s a quick DIY using things that you probably already have on hand.
