It’s hard to believe that last year my husband and I celebrated five years of being married. (For those of you keeping track, we’ve been dating since 2003, we just took a while to make it official in the government’s eyes.)
Between the holidays and the New Year my newsfeed has been pretty abuzz with talk about engagements and it makes me all giddy. I’m not a romantic, but I do love seeing likeminded couples come together and make that commitment. Plus, I love a good party.
When Daniel and I registered for our wedding (which seems like an eternity ago) I wasn’t really sure what we should ask for. It was super fun going to Target to make our Registry annnd if you don’t get the stuff you want off your list you can buy it yourself for 15% off. Today I’m working with Target and I wanted to share with y’all some of the things that I wish I had asked for!
If I had the option to do it all over again, I’d ask for a few different things. Since many of you are also into country living (gardening, fermenting, cooking from scratch) I thought you’d get a kick out of some of these ideas as well. So, without further ado, I present:
Okay, this one is a no-brainer, and this one was the first on our list. Everyone needs a KitchenAid! And don’t forget all of the fun accessories that come along with it (We use ours for meat grinding, pasta making, ice cream, on top of all of the regular uses)
This one is just. plain. fun. And I don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I had a mobile cart like this. Entertaining at parties? Check. Kitchen storage? Check.
Who says you need fussy china? Just have fun with one set of dishes that you can use every day. I’ve already told you all about how we don’t use plastic, so sets like this are perfect for us.
Calphalon Stainless Steel Cookware
I love my cast iron and I’ve been slowly collecting it over time, but I’m also a big fan of sets that have everything you need right. now. The Calphalon Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set contains everything you need to prepare your favorite recipes. These cookware sets include eight pots and pans, all brushed in stainless steel for a classic, yet contemporary look.
Need I say more? They have them in blue, green, and I’ve even seen some purple ones lurking around. We use jars for storage, as drinking cups, and of course, for canning.
If you’re not a drinker, skip this one. But what better way to celebrate a new marriage than with some home-brew? Yes, Target sells these kits! American wheat, Amber, IPA.. they’ve got a little something for everyone.
Okay, now I’m getting really country on y’all. If you love to cook from scratch then you’ll appreciate this, especially if you are a hunter! Perfect for making sausage or your own chop meat.
Enough about me, what did I miss? What are some must-have items that you can’t live without?
