My kids are cheese heads. If I want to ensure that they eat their dinner, all I have to do is cover it with cheese and they are all over that. Needless to say, snacks like cheese crackers don’t last very long in our house. So when I found out that making your own cheese crackers is not only incredibly quick and easy but also incredibly delicious, I couldn’t resist whipping up a batch.
These homemade cheese crackers have just a few ingredients in them: cheese, butter, flour, a splash of water and (if it suites your taste) a pinch of salt.
For this recipe we went with Crystal Farms butter and cheese.
Like us, they’re cheeseheads! Since 1926, Crystal Farms has been committed to providing the highest quality products to their consumers. Today the Crystal Farms® brand is one of the largest cheese brands in the country. Lake Mills, Wisconsin has been home to Crystal Farms for the past 25 years and the hard-working, honest people of Lake Mills are devoted to delivering consistent quality and great tasting products for what they love – cheese. The directions are as simple as mixing everything up, rolling it out and cutting it into shapes.
We don’t get very fancy with ours: just simple squares and triangles will suffice. But if you’re feeling fancy you could always use little shapes (I’ve seen this made in the shape of little fish, too).
