Okay green thumbs! Have you been enjoying all of our fun ideas for gardening (like this, this, or this)? Whether you’re a seasoned homesteader or just keeping your hands busy while you get some fresh air, we’ve got a lil something to please everyone.
For those of us serious about playing in the dirt, it’s a no-brainer that putting a few minutes into getting organized will save you time and money. So here is a simple list of ideas for how to stay kind of organized, Duluth style! #summersolved.
It’s as simple as that. I know I’m not the only one who spends most of my time gardening wearing sweats and tank tops. Aside from looking like a hobo, this ensures that I never have my phone on me, I keep misplacing my lists, oh– and why did I leave my camera lying in the dirt again? And while those yoga pants look super cute, would a few pockets really kill ya?Grab a vest. Throw on some cargo shorts. Load up those pockets.
I used to think it was silly to invest in gadgets with all of the bells and whistles, but now I never do anything without my Ipad. I use it to photograph, to research ideas on the go, and to keep track of what I’m doing. I also leave it in the sun, spray it with the waterhose, and drop it in mud.
Or maybe you’re less into gadgets and more into books. I’ve got a whole library of gardening books that I tote around with me during projects. They don’t stand up as well to the dirt and water. So get a bag. I got this one. Investing in quality should ensure that you keep sensitive materials dry and clean.
Plus it’s really cute.
Grab a cart.
A portable storage container is a great way to travel with your tools. Tools, accessories, and gardening must haves are easy to tote on wheels. And when you’re done? Store the entire thing in the shed (or, if you’re short on space, rent a good quality storage shed to be extra safe) so that you can so they stay rust and mildew free, saving you money.
I’ve been really enjoying Duluth’s new gardening section on their site. (As someone who bends down a lot, I appreciate their longtail tshirts so everyone in the neighborhood doesn’t see your butt hanging out every time you lean over to weed. They get it.)
