Isn’t it silly how sometimes the things that we interact with the most in our lives, the things we need the most, we often take for granted? We’re so fortunate to live in a country where we have access to fresh food, clean air and drinking water.
Clean water. It’s something that we all NEED.
But how many of us actually put thought into what we’re drinking all day long? Have you ever taken the time to research where your water comes from? I know I certainly haven’t because that seems like a daunting task, I wouldn’t even know where to begin!
But guess what. There’s a website out there that’ll make it really easy (and dare I say fun?) for you to find out all kinds of things about your water supply.
KnowYourWater.com is a website that uses public water quality data received from the EPA to help educate consumers on the journey of water from source to treatment to tap, so that you can easily find out what’s coming out of your faucet. They cover 3 categories:
- Closest local water source (It’ll literally tell you how many miles from your address your water is coming from))
- Levels of lead in your water:
- Specific treatments performed to your water prior to leaving the plant (What types of processes your water goes through to ensure it’s clean enough to drink)
Not only does it tell you those things, but it does so in a way that is user friendly and easy to understand! KnowYourWater.com is unique in that it’s the only site created that contains this level of water quality information in one place.
I did it with my kids and we enjoyed going through the process together.
Does that make you think a little more about what you’re drinking? If so, you’ll appreciate this as much as we have: PUR is dedicated now more than ever to giving consumers options to ensure they are drinking safer, cleaner water from their taps, with their line of faucet filters. They offer a new and refined, horizontal, space-saving design that is easy to use without getting n the way!
We know that our water contains contaminants that we don’t want to ingest, but the new PUR faucet filters are certified by the NSF and the WQA to reduce more than any other brand, getting rid of over 70 contaminants-including 99% of lead, 96% of mercury and 92% of certain pesticides. It’s also certified to reduce chlorine (taste & odor), microbial cysts, as well as certain industrial pollutants and the only faucet filter to reduce certain pharmaceutical compounds
PUR’s new faucet filtration system line has three different systems: PUR Ultimate, PUR Advanced and PUR Basic and comes in five different models. You can find them at major retailers like Wal-Mart and Target plus online at Amazon and PUR.com.
