I know that by now I’ve already sent out the message loud and clear: I am excited about Spring. I mean, really freaking excited.
I’m back in the country, surrounded by acres of land and a sky full of fresh air. We’ve got chickens and worms and I can hear the bees beckoning to me. The potential is literally unlimited.
It’s time to delve into the things that I’ve been longing for all winter. Lots of Spring projects to keep my body and mind active (not to mention the side effect of having a buffet of fresh-off-the-vine veggies at my disposal once Summer hits).
Some girls like to update their wardrobe or go shoe shopping to welcome a change in seasons. But me? I prefer my shopping in a somewhat more industrious space. When I was given the opportunity to work with Home Depot I literally freaked out. Freeeaked out. Look, it’s no secret that me and big stores don’t always see eye-to-eye but it’s like an addiction. I can’t help myself.
Plus I’m a sucker for online communities, and they have a Garden Club with lots of fun ideas for your outdoor space, be it for kids, landscaping, flowers, edibles or you urban farmers out there. If you’re a frugal gardener you’ll appreciate the discounts, and if you’re super structured then there monthly to-do lists and how-to videos will appeal to you.
Am I rambling? I’m excited.
I have big plans this Spring.
I hope my passion is contagious, so for anyone else who is into DIYing in the great outdoors I’ll be sharing tips, tutorials and instructions with you all summer long. Some will be Aubrey originals while others will be shared from some of my favorite Homesteading bloggers around the net. I hope you’ll join us every Saturday as we “Dig into Spring” with easy weekend projects.
What projects do you want to see? Visit the Garden Club on The Home Depot website and tell us about a favorite outdoor DIY you’d love to tackle.
