Lately I’ve gone on a much, much needed health kick. Working in front of a computer can certainly take its toll on you, and as a blogger I’m basically sedentary most of the day, and with this summer heat we’ve had I just haven’t had the gumption to get up and at ’em like I normally would.
When I’m doing my workouts, my fitness instructor often reminds us that we’re only going get OUT of it what we put INTO it. So unless you really believe in what you’re doing and give it 110%, you won’t get the results that you crave.
Detoxing is serious business and can be very intense physiologically, mentally, physically and emotionally. You want big results? Detox is a great way to kickstart your health and get your body functioning the right way again. I’m not gonna lie, it’s tough, but it’s the first step in moving your health into an amazing direction.
However, since it can sometimes be such a drastic change, it’s important when approaching a detox to get your advice from professionals, so you can follow a regime and know that you’re doing things in the healthiest way possible.
This week I got to try out the WeightNot detox program from WeighFast. I was super excited about it, but also a little nervous (okay, a lot!) about switching up my eating habits. I appreciated their customer service, plus the members area of their website offers a bunch of helpful of advice to make sure you start things off on the right foot!
Here’s some helpful advice for things that I learned during my experience that might help you out as well:
Write it down.
It all begins with preparing yourself ahead of time. I love to write down my goals first so I can set myself up for success. It can be tough making changes to your diet, but keeping a log of what you eat and drink to make sure that you stay on course is incredibly helpful and rewarding.
Drink lots of water.
A LOT of water! Water helps to flush the toxins from your body and keep everything working the way it’s supposed to, so even if you’re cutting back on what you’re eating be sure you’re still getting in all of the H2O that your body needs!
The WeighFast detox programs recommends 10,000 steps a day. Do you currently track how much you move? For me, sitting in front of the computer, I was shocked to see just how low my daily step count actually is! So MOVE more, even if it’s just taking a walk down the street.
After just 2 days of doing the above three things (the detox program comes with a super handy guide that helps you keep track of everything!), I could see and feel a big difference. For me it takes more than a day or two to actually lose pounds, but even just the bloating and the way my clothes fit feels different with just a few days of mindful detox!
The problem that I see with most weight loss options is that they rely on chemicals to kickstart your body, but we all know that *real* foods are always going to be the best options, which is why the WeightNot system is perfect for foodies like us! So after the detox is over and you’re ready to follow through system through, you’ll be greeted with options like this:
So what do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know: Have you ever done a detox? What do you think about a system like WeightNot that focuses on real, fresh foods to help you achieve your goals quickly?
