An Open Letter Addressed to Women:
Hey, you (yeah, you). Before we go any further, let me just say that you are incredibly good-looking today!
I’m writing to you because I’ve come to discover a very strange and interesting thing in the time I have been a personal trainer. Most of you freak out about the possibility of “eating too much,” but the reality of the situation is this: you are not eating enough.
Please nourish your body with food. Not faux food like protein bars or frozen junk in a box (i.e. Lean Cuisine), but real food that grows on trees, was once running around a farm somewhere, or a chef took the time to prepare.
People often ask me why they’re not getting results and when they do I ask them to describe a typical day of eating (the answer to that question horrifies me nine out of ten times). Most of you jump to the conclusion that you’re not doing the right stuff in the gym (and sometimes you’re not), but this is quite irrelevant when you’re not eating enough to feed a mouse.
Eating a full meal is not going to screw up your results — quite the opposite. Starving your body of the proper nutrition it needs to function is only making you feel exhausted, unhappy, and empty on energy. There is no such thing as “bad food,” so get this idea out of your head right this second.
Fat will not make you fat (it will make you feel full and satisfied).
Carbs are not the devil (as long as you’re not going crazy with it).
And you know you’re supposed to eat protein (so just do it).
I know you’re busy due to the fact that there is only one of you and somehow you have to do ALL THE THINGS. But in order to have the energy you need to complete what might look like a never-ending To-Do List, you just gotta take the time to nourish yourself.
Cool? *Nod your head yes, please and thank you* Cool.
