Alright, people, I think it’s time we had this discussion: Who came up with Taco Tuesday, and what do they have against all of the other days of the week?
In our house, tacos are one of those things that we can eat ALL day, EVERY day. and I just feel like if you’re thinking of it as only a Tuesday type of thing you’re really missing out.
What’s not to love? You’ve got marinated meat, sharp cheese, and the option to pile on all kinds of yummy veggies. Throw on some guacamole or a little bit of sour cream. Then stuff it all into a crispy shell.
If you’re looking for a way to spruce up your next Game Day meal, why not try out a taco recipe that really kicks things up to the next level?
This season, Old El Paso wants to help you score big flavor with some fun twists on regular recipes, so today I present you our version of tacos, where we ditched the chop meat and made braised apple & lime pork carnitas and paired them with Old El Paso taco shells!
You can pair these pork carnitas with any of your favorite toppings. My preference is homemade pickled jalapenos. These would also be uh-mazing with some homemade slaw on them, too!
Or just keep them simple with the regular set up of lettuce and cheese. After all, when you’re done cooking your carnitas you’ll have some tasty sauce leftover that you can pour on top or dip your tacos in. Trust me, you won’t need a lot of fancy ingredients to make these delicious!
