When we found out that we were having a boy, I was given an overwhelming amount of advice about how messy little boys are. It’s true, too. Luke is 2 now, and he’s like a little Tazmanian Devil that leaves tracks of dirt and spilled milk all along his path.
With his older sisters in school now, it’s just the two of us and he barely ever leaves my side, and he’s especially fond of helping me.
Like this morning, when he insisted on helping me cook breakfast and, like it was straight out of a sitcom, he dropped a couple eggs right onto the floor where they formed a big gooey mess. And then he looks up at me with his little face and big brown eyes and simply says, “uh-oh. sorry mama!”
It’s like the cutest thing ever, but still. He’s a mess.
Our floors weren’t very clean to begin with, but with him in tow it’s even worse. And to make matters worse, the floors are also where he prefers to hang out, so extra yuck.
Between the dog hair and this little guy dumping bags of cracker crumbs on the floor on the daily, I’ve been really considering bringing in reinforcements to help me with our floors. When bObsweep offered me a chance to review their bObi Classic I was thinking, “this poor girl has no idea what she’s getting herself into!”. Welcome: Bobi!
bObsweep makes a line of these intuitive vacuums that not only suck up the dirt on your floor, but actually sterilize it as well.
What sets bObsweep apart from robot vacuum cleaners is his ability to sterilize, sweep, vacuum and mop the floor all at the same time. His efficient design allows you to remove and wash the mopping rag more easily than your past experiences with a mop. You can turn on the UV light with a press of a button to get rid of the bacteria and other living organisms on your floors. Bob’s vacuuming function is perfected by its 3 layers of HEPA filtration to ensure submicron particles are absorbed together with the larger dust particles. Bob sweeps the floor with its extra-large main brush which is extremely efficient at picking up hair; he also has a side brush to take care of the corners.
But that’s not all this multifunction floor cleaner is capable of doing. To make the floors even shinier, bObsweep’s dirt detection sensors will increase his cleaning intensity if they encounter more stubborn dirt and debris. [from the bObsweep website]
These little brushes really help, because as it moves along walls and surfaces it pulls junk away from your floorboards and then sucks them up. No more dust bunnies!
My vacuum doesn’t do this… a built in UV light to actually sterilize your floor!
And it’s silly, but my toddler loves it! We call her bObi and actually kind of treat her like a pet. When she’s on my kids will call her over to request that she cleans up their messes (um.. it’s fancy, but I don’t think it can actually respond to human commands. There’s a remote control for that stuff!)
Then one of his favorite things to do is to put his toys on it, and then as she moves around the room she brings his toys with her. It also works with hats. He really gets a kick out of this! I had to make a video to show just how much fun he has playing with, growling at, and chasing this robot around.
But all joking aside, it really is a great convenience to have another hand around the house to help with the sweeping and mopping! This busy mama can use all of the help she can get.
Have you guys ever wanted to get one of these? What feature do you think would be the most beneficial to you? If you’re interested in adopting one yourself, check out the bObsweep website and shop.
