Holiday brunches may just be my favorite thing of all. It combines some of my favorite elements: good company, delicious party food, and Bloody Mary’s.
There’s something so tempting in this classic drink. It’s a rich, full flavored beverage that you can unload your entire refrigerator into. Plus, you could totally sans the alcohol and just enjoy the cacophony of flavors.
For extra fun, make this Bloody Mary mix beforehand and set up a Bloody Mary bar for your friends or family! It’s as simple as setting out all of the adornments.
If you’re setting this up as a bar, simply line up everything and allow your guests to add their favorite combinations! My favorites thing to liven up these drinks are:
- Tabasco sauce
- Different types of salt
- Old Bay
- Mozzarella cheese
- Cucumber sticks
- Fresh lime
Use this recipe as your base, but remember to have fun with it. We used Chipotle Tabasco sauce in the base so that we could incorporate that complex smoky, savory, spice and vinegar into it. I started with one tablespoon in the recipe, but for my taste preferences I do about three. What can I say, I love me some hot sauce!
(And yes, I did add a little bit of Jalapeño sauce on top of it afterward!)
My husband and I are beyond obsessed with all of these Tabasco products (seriously, we go through about two bottles a week. We’ve become very well acquainted with this aisle at Food Lion!
Have you ever had a homemade Bloody Mary before? What were your favorite combinations to mix into it? Leave me a comment and let me know!
