Burgers are personal and an intimate expression of who a person is and their relationship with food. I believe this with all my heart because of the sheer volume of customization you can have with burgers. With cheese or without. Meat, vegetarian, vegan. Add-ins inside the meat or on top. Sesame buns or brioche or pretzel. No matter your tastes, chances are, there is a burger out there for you.
I used to be a huge fan of burgers. There was a time that I thought I could probably live off them for the rest of my life and be happy… Who am I kidding, I still think that! Only now that I am older and wiser, I’ve become addicted to the wonders of black bean burgers. I love that they are so low in calories compared to any meat versions and a lot less expensive, too. It is the ultimate indulgent feeling meal that is pretty guilt-free. That is a huge win in my book… and just a guess here, but I am assuming it is in yours, too!
Some people think I get way into my food, but I wonder how can you not? I mean, this is the stuff we are putting into our bodies and providing us with what we need to survive! I want it to be the best possible food ever in terms and taste and nutrient efficiency. It’s what our childhood memories and family traditions are made from. It should be just as fun and memorable as it is good for you. Food is more than mere fuel. My recipes I’ve shared with you, my new friends, have been a great mix of both in my opinion and while this has a lot of good nutrition, I like to think this leans more toward that fun factor. And it is so good.
