Today I, Lauren, thought I’d share a yummy Black Bean veggie burger! Let me preface this recipe by saying I’m not a vegetarian, but I do like to mix-it-up and have meatless meals sometimes.
This was the perfect, scrumptious, vegetarian meal! Sometimes I avoid telling my husband what I’m making for dinner as he’s not always excited to be my guinea pig. I knew if he found out I was making a veggie burger he’d probably say “What? No beef?” HOWEVER, he will be the first to rave about this black bean burger! It’s awesome!
If you’re like me, you may have tried veggie burgers in the past that were tasteless and/ or didn’t hold together. Well, this burger will be your happy relief! It’s packed full of flavor, holds together nicely and is super easy to grill. The texture is a little softer than a regular burger, which can be expected from a black bean burger, but it’s totally amazing! Pile on the homemade chipotle sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and avocados and you’ll be in healthy burger heaven!
And if you enjoy eating vegetarian but aren’t a big fan of black beans, you can always try something like these protein-packed Fruity Burgers, made with veggies and fresh herbs.
After prepared you can choose to:
- Grill them on a well oiled grill for about 5-8 minutes on each side.
- Bake them at 375 degrees F on a lightly oiled baking sheet, for 10 minutes on each side.
- Refrigerate them for later.
- Freeze them for a quick weeknight dinner in the future.
Serve burgers on a whole wheat bun topped with lettuce, tomato, cheese, avocado, or any other desired toppings! Enjoy!
Hi there! Our names are Liz and Lauren and we are identical twin sisters who share a love for cooking (and eating) great food! The name of our site, “Tastes Better FromScratch” is courtesy of a motto ingrained in us by our awesome Mom. I don’t think it was until we moved out of the house that we realized you could buy things like “pre-made” pie crusts or store bought jam! She taught us well that everything really does taste better homemade!
