Every year during the holidays, we look out for those we love by baking and cooking all of the things that make them feel like it’s the holidays. We bake and decorate cookies like we used to as children. We stuff the oven with as many dishes as possible of cheesy goodness, desserts, and main dishes. It’s funny how the holidays can really kick us into this kitchen frenzy. It’s funny how with all of the stress of the holidays, we can find so much comfort in something from the kitchen.
Some of the recipes we love so much can become kind of dated, and since we’re individuals and want to be unique, we love to take family classics and add our own twist on them. I really love to do this and surprise everyone with a new flavor on something we all love. It’s a surprise, and it’s always so worth it!
One holiday classic, bacon-wrapped scallops, is great for any occasion but this year, I wanted to try something new. With the flavors available from Great Midwest® Cheeses, I knew I could add a bit of cheesy goodness to my already amazing scallops and they’d be a hit.
Since the cheeses are made in hand-crafted small batches, you know they pay close attention to quality and taste. This recipe is sure to impress any holiday dinner guest and if we’re being completely honest, cheese makes everything better.
Like all of my favorite recipes, this one doesn’t require many ingredients or a lot of work, but the rewards are huge, and your guests will definitely think that you’ve whipped together something fancy.
What family recipe do you make every year that you could experiment with and make even better by using Great Midwest® Cheeses?
