I lied to you all. But let me explain.
I had planned this whole big ordeal about feeding baby his first foods. I was going to track everything we were doing with Luke, walking ya’ll step by step through the process of giving baby healthy and nutrient dense foods.
I started him around 6 months and tried the traditional: mashed sweet potatoes, homemade purees, etc. He just didn’t seem interested. So I waited– 6 months, after all, is a pretty basic starting point but some babies take much longer to be ready to eat.
But when we were eating he was really interested. He’d cry and fuss and reach, grabbing forks from our hands and stuffing his little fingers into our lunch whenever possible.
It turns out that our precocious baby was ready to eat, but he didn’t want baby food. He kind of just skipped that whole phase. He wanted big boy foods.
So we went ahead and started giving him what we were eating, which worked out conveniently well considering we already have to work around the taste preferences of a 4 year old and a tween. But as far as informing you all about what we were doing, it just seemed kind of moot.
So I put the video series on hold, BUT if you all are still interested in hearing about how we are feeding this soon-to-be eight month old just let me know and I can improvise the series a bit.
To make it up to you, I wanted to hold a giveaway celebrating two of my favorite brands.

We want our clothing to support children in exploring their interests, whatever they may be. We want rich vibrant colors to be for girls and boys interchangeably, not limiting each gender to a pink or blue realm. We believe that by supporting these ideas, you are supporting a kinder more accepting future world for your children. You are teaching them that there are “a universe of possibilities” to explore!
